Service Description
Andamento is the heartbeat of mosaic art, the rhythm that guides our eyes and defines movement, emotion, and flow. In this two-day workshop, participants will explore how line, direction, and rhythm can be used not only to organize Tesserae but to express energy and feeling. Through a series of drawing exercises and hands-on mosaic studies, students will learn to translate visual rhythm into expressive compositions. We will examine how line thickness, curvature, and direction influence emotion, from calm and stability to tension and motion. Day one focuses on drawing and understanding the emotional qualities of lines. Day two translates these discoveries into mosaic form, using smalti, stone, and other materials to create small studies that embody expressive andamento. This workshop encourages both technical precision and artistic freedom, guiding students to develop a personal visual language where structure meets emotion. This class for intermediate and advanced students, curiosity, openness, and a willingness to explore are the only requirements.

Cancellation Policy
Welcome to AGI Mosaics! We’re thrilled to have you join our vibrant community of artists and learners. Please review our sign-up policy to ensure a seamless experience. General Registration Pre-Registration Required: All classes, workshops, and events require advance registration to secure your spot. Full Payment: Tuition and fees must be paid in full before the first class begins. Cancellations and Refunds Student Cancellations: Cancellations made at least 30 days before the start of the class are eligible for a full refund. No refunds are issued for cancellations made within 7 days of the class. However, credit may be applied to a future session at our discretion. AGI Mosaics Cancellations: If we cancel a class due to unforeseen circumstances, you’ll receive a full refund or credit for a future class. Attendance Missed Classes: We are unable to provide make-up sessions for missed classes unless otherwise stated in the course description. Punctuality: Please arrive on time to ensure a smooth experience for all participants. Tools and Materials Included Materials: Unless noted, tuition covers the use of tools and basic materials. Additional materials may be purchased from AGI Mosaics if required. Personal Tools: Students are welcome to bring their own tools, provided they are appropriate for the class. Health and Safety Studio Guidelines: Students must adhere to all safety protocols while in the studio. Allergies/Medical Conditions: Please notify us in advance if you have any medical conditions or allergies that might affect your participation. Special Notes Waitlists: If a class is full, you may join our waitlist. We will notify you if a spot becomes available. Communication: You’ll receive confirmation emails and class updates.
